We are a growing community of swimmers and volunteers who all like to rally around an objective while supporting each other and raising money to fight cancer. We all have a personal story about cancer’s impact directly or on a team member, loved one, or friend.
The Seattle Swim blog helps us as individuals and teams to tell our stories, find kindred spirits, recruit new participants, and raise awareness for Seattle Swim 2012, an event under the our national organization – Swim Across America. Our blog and social media team also plans to have a little fun with the process. We love guest posts, so don’t be shy in contacting us at <firstname.lastname@example.org>.
For the 4th year running, we will be going into Lake Washington on September 8, 2012, raising money through swim sponsors for the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. We had 260 swimmers in 2011, up from 180 in 2010, and we are recruiting another 75 this year to top 325. There are 0.5 mile and 2 mile options, along with teams to join and training support. We are also looking for new teams from offices, schools, and other community organizations around the Pacific Northwest. Ask us about becoming a team captain and recruit a team!
Join us, challenge yourself, and fight cancer in 2012!
